Preparation for Everest Base Camp Luxury Trek with Helicopter Return

Guides and Porters

They are an integral part of the Everest Base Camp Luxury Trek with Helicopter Return in making sure everything goes on smoothly and that the trek is a success.

Guides with extensive experience in the Everest region offer knowledge of the region and explain the terrain, people, and culture around the trekking area. They also have good navigational skills which assist in other potential risks like altitude sickness and difficulties of finding one’s way in difficult passages. Their presence also helps trekkers maintain the correct pace for the degradation of speed which is beneficial for the safety of the trekkers. Also, guides can assist in case of emergencies and help with, especially for beginners, reassurance during this physically challenging trek.

Porters are also highly important in the completion of the Everest Base Camp Luxury Trek With Helicopter Return as they are responsible for carrying large packs containing personal equipment and other supplies. With this, trekkers have little to carry and concentrate on the journey rather than straining themselves too much. As a result of the extreme altitude and unforgiving trail systems, porters assure that trekkers do not risk overexerting themselves and can soak in the beauty of nature and culture the trek has to offer.

Sagarmatha National Park Entry Permit

Anyone who wishes to trek in the Everest Region requires the Sagarmatha National Park Entry Permit. This permit balances access to the trails and sights of the park with protecting the natural environment. NPR 3000 is charged to International trekkers, NPR 1000 for SAARC Nations and NPR 100 for Nepali Trekkers.

Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Municipality Entry Permit

Trekkers have to obtain another permit which is the Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Municipality Entry Permit, which is needed to access the Khumbu region. The amount which is charged for this permit is NPR 3000 out of all components for this permit, irrespective of the nationality of the trekkers.

Communication and Internet During Everest Base Camp Luxury Trek with Helicopter Return

Communication and Internet during the Everest Base Camp Luxury Trek with Helicopter Return is limited because of its remoteness. Some lodges and tea houses offer limited Wi-Fi along the trekking route. However, the service is often slow due to high usage. You can remain connected by sourcing a local SIM card, such as from Ncell or Nepal Telecom, which offers reasonable data and voice packs. You can use these SIMs in most of the trails but there is a high chance of losing their signal as you go up the mountain.

Satellite phones are essential for effective communication, particularly during emergencies. It becomes so significant for adventure travelers who have opted for the more altitudinal treks, where weather and terrain conditions can be quite risky.

Travel Insurance

Travel insurance is the most important thing one must even have for such a trip that is subjected to this Everest Base Camp Luxury Trek with Helicopter Return. Everest Base Camp Trek is very demanding in the aspect of terrain, altitude and even unpredictable weather. This trek invites a lot of hazards ranging from high-altitude sicknesses, such as injury or sudden health emergencies that may require a helicopter evacuation to a medical facility.

That’s why travel insurance is very crucial for this trek. Comprehensive travel insurance covers medical expenses, evacuation, cancellation of trips, delay in travel, or lost baggage. Hence, travel insurance helps you ensure your safety as well as the finances involved.

Mountain Treks Nepal does not directly deal with travel insurance. However, we advise you to purchase it from other platforms such as Allianz, World Trips, Travelex, and others.

Food and Accommodation During Everest Base Camp Luxury Trek with Helicopter Return

Lodges and Tea Houses along the route serve hearty meals for sustaining trekkers on days when they need to exert themselves. Expect some measure of local Sherpa fare, like dal bhat (rice with lentils), and a taste of other dishes, including momo, chowmein, and noodles. Although the variety of your menu may lessen as you go up, the meals will still be hearty and filling. Snacks and hot beverages, including tea and coffee, are always available to energize and warm you along the way.

Accommodation facilities on the trek range from the traditional mountain lodge to luxurious [only in Namche]. Rooms are usually clean and comfortable, provided with standard amenities such as shared bathrooms and cozy beds with hot blankets. Luxury lodges provide en suite bathrooms, heated dining areas, and considerably high comfort levels. It is an experience where you find yourself at complete rest after the day’s trek. At the same time, you can enjoy the spectacular view of the surrounding peaks.

Hot Drinking Water

Hot drinking water is fundamentally necessary while undertaking the Everest Luxury Trek with Helicopter Return for keeping the body hydrated and warm under cold, high-altitude conditions. Moreover, hydration is one of the cardinal factors in fighting altitude sickness and maintaining energy levels. Many tea houses along the trek offer hot water.

However, it comes at extra charges due to heating in those remote mountain areas. Carrying a refillable flask with hot water is an excellent way to stay hydrated with less inconvenience. It also provides a constant source of warmth on the trail.

Conclusion

    Detailed Itinerary

Welcome to Kathmandu, the lively capital and ancient cultural center of Nepal! Today, you will check into your hotel after being received by one of our representatives. You can explore the wonderful Kathmandu city features with colorful streets and ambiance of the local culture.

In the evening, there will be a meet and greet program with Mountain Treks Nepal Team. Here, you can discuss trekking itinerary and important guidelines are discussed. This prepares you for the exciting journey ahead. This will then be followed by leisure time to explore or relax as you prepare for the next day’s flight to Lukla.

On the second day of the Everest Base Camp Luxury Trek, with Helicopter Return, we will fly to Tenzing Norgay Airport from Kathmandu. An early morning flight will take you to Lukla, which will serve you well with a stunning aerial view of the mighty Himalayan peaks.

Upon landing, you will meet your trekking guide and porter, and you will officially commence your journey. The trail begins with a gentle descent past Sherpa villages like Nurning and Chheplung, then alongside the Dudh Koshi River.

This hike is quite easy on the way to the destination, Phakding. By early evening, you will reach Phakding and will be accommodated in a tea house.

As the next day begins, you will commence on the next journey to Namche Bazaar from Phakding. The first part of the trek leads you through pine forests while crossing a series of suspension bridges above the thundering Dudh Koshi River. There would be Monjo, the gateway through which travelers enter Sagarmatha National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site on your way. If you have not got your permits, then you can purchase them at Monjo Check Post.

The path gets steeper as you climb, and even the iconic Hillary Suspension Bridge marks this as one of the most exhilarating parts of your journey. As you step into Namche Bazaar, you will finally be rewarded with the first sight of Everest. Overnight at Namche Bazaar.

Today is meant to be spent getting used to altitude in preparation for the higher altitudes. As you prepare for your acclimatization, some of the important things you must be concerned about are hydration, proper sleep, nutrition, and more. You can also go on an optional hike to Everest View Hotel, enjoying the views of Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam and Everest View Hotel.

The rest of the day can be spent walking through Namche Bazaar vibrant settlement with its shops, bakeries, and cafes. The Sherpa museum fills the journey with more flavor, as it gives the traveler insight into local culture and the history of mountaineering.

We are already at the half of the 10 Days Everest Base Camp Luxury Trek with Helicopter Return. Today, you will start your day with an early breakfast at Namche before you set out for your trek to Tengboche. The path stretches through the Sherpa Villages such as Khyangjuma and Phunke Tenga Village, which offer magnificent views of Everest, Ama Dablam, and others. After the descent to the Dudh Koshi River, another suspension bridge will link you to a steady ascension through rhododendron forests.

Tengboche is famous for its grand views and the ancient monastery, which is one of the largest in the Khumbu region. The monastery was built in 1916 by Lama Gulu. Take time to visit the monastery, where you will feel the impact of the spiritual Himalayas. Overnight stay in Tengboche.

Today’s journey will take you on a beautiful journey through rhododendron forests to Deboche and then cross over the Imja Khola River. The trail climbs steadily with heavenly views of the rugged terrain and sky-high peaks. You can make your stop at Pangboche, another Sherpa Village with insights into Buddhism featuring prayer flags, mani walls, and chortens.

Dingboche is a traveler’s paradise for sure, as it offers a change in the landscape from a greenish ambiance to rugged terrains. The stone walls scattered around and grazing yaks are some of the major add-ons. It is a lovely, peaceful place surrounded by high peaks where one can spend time relaxing and acclimatizing. Overnight stay at Dingboche.

This is more like a rest day for your body to acclimatize to a gradually increasing altitude. Also, you will go on a short hike to the beautiful village of Chhukung, located in between the great views of peaks from the Mahalangur Range. A brief trek to Chhukung affords a stunning view of Island Peak, Amphu Laptsa, and the Imja Valley.

The rest of your day can be spent discovering Dingboche or literally taking it easy in this tranquil setting. This much-earned day off is now also for acclimatization and making you ready for the tiring days ahead.

The trek from Dingboche to Lobuche is challenging yet rewarding. As you push this beautiful day during Everest Base Camp Luxury Trek with Helicopter Return further, you will reach one of the highest passes, Dughla Pass, at 4830 m. This journey surely brings the magnificent sights of Mt Everest and other peaks to your eyes.

After that, you will continue across the rugged trails towards Lobuche. The view here is breathtakingly dominated by huge mountains such as Lobuche, Pumori and Nuptse. The temperatures decline as you hike higher, so you must be prepared with your clothing and gear.

It’s quite a short trek to Gorak Shep, which takes only a few hours. It is the last village you will find to stay in the Khumbu region. From Gorakshep, the journey is actually to Everest Base Camp. This phase of the hike is tough as you glide past the glacial moraine, with spectacular views of the Khumbu Icefall and peaks around it.

Perhaps the most iconic moment of this trek, Everest Base Camp, marks the spot at which your hike finally peaks. You can explore the atmosphere at the foot of the tallest mountain in the world with clear views of Mt. Everest itself with other peaks such as Nuptse and Lhotse. After exploring the base camp, you will descend to Gorak Shep for some well-deserved rest.

You have an early-morning trek up to Kalapathar that brings you 360 views of the Himalayas with golden sun rays on Everest and its neighboring peaks. This place is also known as the world’s highest webcam viewpoint, sitting at an altitude of 5,644 meters above sea level.

Once you complete exploring Kala Patthar, you will hike back and have your breakfast at Gorak Shep. Then, it’s time to board a helicopter for a flight back to Kathmandu through Lukla. The flight serves you with aerial views of the Himalayan peaks and the Khumbu Valley, forming a beautiful conclusion to this adventure. Upon arriving at Kathmandu, you will be escorted to your respective hotels for an overnight stay.

      Ebc trip by heli return

We were a group of 7 people who booked the trip with Mountain trek Nepal for the Langtang Valley and Gosaikunda Trek. Some of us had been to Nepal before and done to the Everest Base Camp Trek with this agency so we also decided to joined mountain treks Nepal.

Our guide Raj and his assistants Ramsh and rajesh attended to our every need and we would highly recommend them for treks in Nepal. Some of us had previously had Raj as our guide in the past EBC trekking and knew that he would do everything possible to make our trek amazing, safe, comfortable, and funny.

Raj provided us with information and so interesting things day by day, noting how many hours of walking would be required, how is the path, lunch places , the required amount of drinking water, and the Necessary clothing for the given day’s weather conditions and altitude, altitude sickness etc…
it was so fun return by helicopter after the base camp.

I would highly recommend Mountain treks Nepal, as well as Raj for anyone we are planning to trek in Nepal.

      Lifetime Experance

Wow trip of a lifetime. After a long plan for trekking in Everest Nepal, we three friends did the trek with this company in the recommendation of one of our common friend. Our guide Himal was very friendly and knowledgeable. Meals in the trek was off course different for us but we enjoyed Nepalese meals and tried eating with our hands like locals, accommodation was comfortable and views were awesome. We all loved the trek and farewell dinner with Bharat in Kathmandu. We miss you girls 🙂
      See you soon !!

Unforgettable Everest Trek with Mountain Treks Nepal

My recent Everest Panorama Trek with Mountain Treks Nepal was an absolutely phenomenal experience. From the breathtaking Himalayan vistas to the rich Sherpa culture, the trek exceeded all my expectations.

A big part of this success goes to Mountain Treks’ fantastic team. Mr. Bharat, the manager, ensured everything was meticulously organized, from permits and transportation to comfortable teahouse accommodations. His professionalism and attention to detail put me at ease from the very beginning.

However, the true star of the trek was our amazing guide, Mr. Deepak. His knowledge of the region, both geographical and cultural, was truly impressive. He not only led us safely through the trails but also brought the Himalayas to life with his insightful commentary. His friendly and encouraging personality made the trek even more enjoyable.

Together, Mr. Bharat and Mr. Deepak made this trip unforgettable. I highly recommend Mountain Treks Nepal to anyone considering the Everest Panorama Trek.

      Trip to everest base camp

Thanks to Bharat for organizing my trip to Everest Base Camp so well – from the pickup at the airport to the drop off.
Lovely staff in the hotel, very clean rooms and great breakfast.
For EBC I had a Porter-Guide from Lukla. During the Trek Bharat stayed in touch and would try everything to make it a good trip. Even when I hurt my knee and couldn’t walk anymore for one day he changed the flight back to Kathmadu so I could add one extra day of Trekking.
Also the price is very reasonable and they offer budget packages for people like me who travel on a low budget. And they made me feel safe all the time which is very important to me as I am a female solo traveler.
When I come back to Nepal for Trekking I will choose this company again.
      Cheers, Lisa!

      everest base camp wtih mtn

I did the Everest Base camp trek alone with mountain treks Nepal, I was recommended to them by a friend who had done the trek in 2017. From the moment I first contacted the company to inquire, Bharat was very quickly to respond and helpful. He would always respond in a timely manner whenever I had a question, especially given the circumstances of Nepal’s situation this past year. Being a solo younger female, it was so nice not to have to worry about anything and everything was handled. I stayed in Hotel Thamel Backpackers Home for my first few nights in Kathmandu which is an excellent hotel for me. it’s very beautiful. My guide was Akash and he took such great care of me during my stay and trek. The other people who were set to come on the trek with me unfortunately pulled out, so I ended up having essentially a private tour, and it wasn’t any less fun. The guides and the other people trekking from other companies at the same time made it very entertaining. I received a call from Bharat during my final few days of trekking to check up and see how I was doing it was really appreciated, which I thought was wonderful service. I don’t typically do a lot of all-inclusive tours but I’m definitely glad I spent the money and went with Mountain Treks Nepal. Thanks for a memorable experience!
Special thanks to Mr. Bharat and Akash. Hope see you again for another wonderful trek.
